Known as the Northampton county, Northamptonshire (/nɔːrˈθ mptənʃər, -ʃɪər/; abbreviated Northants.) is an East Midlands county of England. England's administrative county boundary that is shortest at (20 yards) 19 metres, Oxfordshire to the south-west and Lincolnshire to the north-east , Warwickshire to the west, Leicestershire and Rutland to the north, Cambridgeshire to the east, Bedfordshire to the south-east, Buckinghamshire to the south, include eight other counties Northamptonshire, which covers an area of 2,364 square kilometres (913 sq mi), is landlocked between.
